Phil Tatlow joined the firm effective October, 2009. He has worked in litigation since graduating from St. Louis University Law School in 1991. He served as the President of another law firm in St. Louis County before joining Bollwerk, Ryan & Tatlow.  He joined Bollwerk, Ryan & Tatlow to merge his Plaintiff's only practice with Jill and Dan's practice and in order to allow him to work in a law firm where only Plaintiff's litigation is being handled.

Phil is licensed to practice law in the states of: Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. He has handled cases in numerous jurisdictions throughout Missouri and Illinois Circuit Courts, as well as before the Division of Worker's Compensation. He has handled appeals iin the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Illinois Court of Appeals.  Phil has handled many hearing before the Social Security Administration. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District Court of Missouri and in the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.

Phil obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a dual major in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986, after growing up in Moberly, Missouri. He is the son of a trial lawyer and of an author of short-stories. This background helped prepare him for his legal career in personal injury, in representing working men and women, and for his work in the courtroom.

He is a Member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; Illinois State Bar Association; The Missouri Bar; American Association for Justice; and Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Phil handles Personal Injury cases, Premises Liability Cases, Nursing Home cases, Worker's Compensation cases and ERISA Long-Term Disability Cases and Accidental Death and Life Insurance cases. Prior to concentrating in Plaintiff's work, Phil handled Civil Rights Litigation in Federal Court and other civil litigation involving fraud, breach of contract and general personal injury litigation. He previously represented police officers, deptuy sheriffs and law enforcement officers accused of Excessive Force and violation of Civil Rights. He was successful on all of the Federal Civil Rights cases that he tried in Federal Court.

Phil has handled over 100 jury and bench trials in Missouri and Illinois State and Federal Courts and Administrative Tribunals. He has handled in excess of 100 ERISA cases involving cliams for employees deprived of disability benefits, life insurance proceeds or accidental death benefits. He has woked with numerous union clients that have been deprived of their rights by insurance companies and their employer. He has successfully resolved many cases through mediation and arbitration.

Phil has served as a lecturer for the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys on personal injury topics and damages and has served as a reviewer on Missouri Bar CLE books on damages and personal injury matters.
